A Dull Moment

If you're noticing that your rotary cutter blade isn't cutting all the way through the fabrics. It may be time for a new blade. But it may also be time to clean your cutting mat!
A little soap and water usually does just fine. Avoid using  harsh cleaning chemicals that may contain alcohol or ammonia.

Sashing as you go

You may find it easier to keep your sashing straight by adding sashing to each block as you sew. Its easy! Here is how it would go.

Each Row

Block 1-Sew the sashing on the right side and bottom of your block.
All other blocks-Sew sashing on the right side and bottom of your block.
.
The top row of each block would also have sashing sewn on top.

Merry Christmas to all

Picture
If I thought the year was busy to August then the rest of the year was over the top.

This year of moving, remodeling, pouring concrete, building shops, classes, sewing, friends, family, Thanksgiving, now Christmas and then bring in the New Year.

I am truly  blessed.

Thank you to all my students, friends and family for your patients and support during this year. Your friendship and encouragement have made fun what would have been an overwhelming year.

We look forward to 2018 with excitement and anticipation .

Wishing and praying to you and your family's, love, happiness, good health and lots of sewing.

Sending threads of love

Arlina

Our New Studio to open soon

What a busy year so far.  Search for a new home, shop and studio took over a year.  We looked at dozens of places. In todays market our prospects were slim.  In April 2017 we finally found property acceptable to live in, have a sewing studio and small machine shop. But the man needed a larger one also, so three months later concrete was poured and we anxiously await the walls and roof to be erected. Woohoo.

Soon I will be announcing the opening of the Sewing Studio for sewing, quilting and embroidery classes. And yes we are throwing in the scan n cut classes. Picture of studio transforming so check back often for updates and the new class schedule.

Love gift tote.
Projects, Classes and sewing gifts has filled the last couple months.
There are still many projects to complete, and always will be. Love my life.

A cool and crisp fall. My teaching classes will begin this week.  This weeks class will be providing machines to those who either do not have a embroidery machine or are in the market for purchase but not sure which to buy. Or attendees can bring their own machine if they prefer. Beginning sewing classes and classes to become familiar with sewing, embroidery, serger, and cover stitch will also be available.

In the blink of an eye.

It seems I am living in a time warp. In the blink of an eye and another year has gone by.  Someone hasn't been posting updates and now I do not know what I have done this last year. Oh, wait that was me.

Ok girls, I must confess, it has been a most unusual year so far.  Last year ended in us beginning to move our shops, office and home.  We finally finished March 23, this year.  A lot of packing and unpacking.  You should have been with me in my sewing room. I looked around and said "Who does all this fabric belong to?".  Hee hee.  Yes, it is all mine.  I'm sure I must have won some kind of contest for most fabric.

I do love my new studio, its small and cute.  I can maybe teach a couple students at a time and I look forward to my first students this fall.

Now that I'm settled in keep coming back and check for updates
Here are a few pictures of the past few month.
